ChRistMaS

Christmas this year couldn't have been better for me. I had my baby. My husband. My puppies. & My family to spend it with me! Mom, Dad, & Whitney traveled north for a week. It was Dad & Whitney's first time to see baby Emma...I think they may have loved her! LoL! We missed Michael with us this Christmas, but we know he is doing something well worth his time, & we are so proud of him!

My mom & dad were so helpful with Emma (she was just about 2 weeks) & letting Adam and I sleep, while they watched her for a few nights...probably the best "gift" we got! :) Not to mention, probably saved me from getting any of those "baby blues"!

Christmas Eve, Adam made us a delicious prime rib dinner! SO GOOD! While we were eating Whitney got a phone call from a funny number & just ignored it since no one knew who it was...probably a "spammer" call. Not long after, while we were playing Scrabble cards, I got a call on my cell phone from the same number. Then, Mom....We started to get a little curious, wondering who in the world would have all our phone numbers and call us right in a row? That would be too weird for a sales person (total "Staples" moment LoL). Whitney is the only one who's light bulb went off... "MICHAEL"!!! He left a message on Whitney's phone (didn't call back once we stopped ignoring him..haha..woops) saying he was calling to let us know when he was going to call on Christmas Day. Mom wasn't too happy we missed him...but we had a good laugh that we all kept ignoring him. LoL. We felt "smart" to say the least!

Christmas Day, Mom made our traditional Christmas breakfast! Pancakes, eggs, bacon...the works! It was delicious! I sure miss her cooking..the things we take for granted!!!! Then, as usual, Whitney was pretty impatient to start opening gifts...still not sure why, she always knows what they all are! Ha Ha! I think little Miss Emma got the most gifts..she is going to be spoiled by all her grandparents for sure!

My family & I all took a trip over to Dallas & Tonja's (in laws) for Christmas lunch/dinner. It's so nice to have the in laws get a long with my parents so great. We ate & then opened gifts. Once we got home, Adam went to see his Mom & the rest of our family at her home. I stayed behind due to a little miss fuss, as well as waiting for Michael's phone call.

I was super excited and began making bread on my new bread machine...I LOVE IT (thanks again mom & dad)! Michael called and I was the first to really get to talk to him. It was so nice to hear his voice. He sounded so happy and content with his life and what he was doing. He had been expressing some rough feelings & things in his past e-mails, which always makes a big sister worry. I had a hard time holding back tears. I sure miss that kid. But, I am even more proud of him serving the Lord.

You sure do get a new perspective on the true meaning of Christmas with a new born of your own!

We may have dyed Whitney's hair against my parents' wish...It looks fab if I must say so myself! ;)
